Description

Barn Hill Preserve is an 18-acre facility in Ethel, LA. We are home to over 200 animals consisting of 35+ species. Barn Hill is 10 years old and constantly evolving and growing. Our sister non-profit organization recently spent 2 months in Australia helping with bushfire rescue. We travel to Costa Rica yearly to work with in situ conservation initiatives, while also fundraising through special events in the US. We are seeking dynamic, versatile, adaptable, and experienced people to join our close knit team.

We are currently looking for education team members!

The ideal candidate will be comfortable facilitating encounter tours to groups of 20+ guests.

Tour guide duties include:
– Facilitating encounters between guests and animals
– Ensuring guest and animal safety during encounter tours
– Working special events after hours
-Caring for our ambassador animals: a variety of reptiles, mammals, and birds

Skills desired include:
-Observation and communication skills
-Ability to multi-task
-Comfortability working with guests of all ages

Education and Pre-requisites

– 1 year experience public speaking, education, animal care, or similar preferred
-college degree in zoology or similar field preferred

Compensation and benefits

Pay starting at $12/hour based on experience
Medical/Dental/Vision insurance as well as 401(k)
Temporary housing can be provided
