Description
Wild Wonders, a ZAA accredited facility located in North San Diego has 2 positions open for Keepers of ambassador animals.Hours are a minimum of 24 per week and include one weekend day. These positions will report directly to the Animal Care Managers. Duties include, but not limited to:
preparing and feeding out diets
maintaining habitats
training ambassadors using operant conditioning.
presenting entertaining and educational programs onsite and offsite.
training and overseeing Interns and volunteers.
medical husbandry training and support.
Implementing and promoting mission of organization
following SOPS and executing management goals
Education and Pre-requisites
zoology degree preferred
minimum one year professional experience in a zoological facility in animal care
ability to lift 50 lbs and work in adverse weather conditions.
valid drivers license
fully vaccinated against Covid 19
ability to work flexible shifts including nights/weekends
public speaking skills a plus
basic knowledge of operant conditioning
Cheetah experience desirable
Compensation and benefits
starts at 18/hr plus program bonuses.
