Overview:
The Animal Management Services department is looking for a permanent part-time assistant to assist with data entry, file management, and office administration. There is flexibility in working hours with roughly 30-35 hours per week.
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
Digitizing, uploading, and organizing documents in electronic records management system.
Assist with inventorying historical animal records and entering data into an electronic database.
Sending out questionnaires and tracking replies.
Preparing required paperwork for permit applications and animal shipments, including typing, photocopying, mailing, and filing.
General office duties in support of and related to the operations of the Animal Management Services office as assigned.
Education and Pre-requisites
TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS ROLE, APPLICANTS MUST UPLOAD BOTH A RESUME AND COVER LETTER.
Experience or strong interest in data management, including archival and electronic records
Able to read, decipher and verify data from source documents and enter information efficiently and accurately
Interest in researching and cross-referencing documents
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent collaboration skills, strong initiative and good time management skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, SharePoint) and Adobe
Dependable and reliable
General knowledge of zoological/taxonomic nomenclature and animal husbandry is desirable but not mandatory
Workplace Conditions and Physical Requirements:
The position requires work in office environments. This includes use of computer and office equipment and requires sitting, standing, and lifting up to 25 pounds.

Compensation and benefits
Salary: $17.00 – $19.00
