Come help lead a really amazing team! We have an incredible reptile, amphibian, and invertebrate collection and do some really fantastic hands-on conservation work. And our program is only going to continue to grow.
This is a “working” supervisory position in animal care, working closely with the Associate Curators and the Curator to lead a team of Zoologists, covering daily routines as assigned, and providing exceptional care to the species housed in a given section. The Assistant Zoological Manager assists in the daily operation of the department, management of animal husbandry programs, and maintenance of associated facilities. The Assistant Zoological Manager will serve as the primary contact and liaison for their assigned section in the absence of the Zoological Manager, and provide leadership to animal care staff.
Education and Pre-requisites
A Bachelor’s degree in biology, animal science, or a related field is preferred, but not required. Must have knowledge of animal husbandry, with at least seven years preferred of exotic animal care experience at an AZA-accredited facility (ideally with Reptiles, Amphibians, Invertebrates)
