Description
The Center for Great Apes is seeking full-time Great Ape Caregivers. This position is responsible for all routine animal husbandry, including feeding, cleaning, observations and documentation, enrichment, positive reinforcement training and assisting as needed with veterinary procedures. Excellent teamwork and communication skills as well as a solid commitment to the sanctuary’s mission are required.
All Caregiver applicants must be available any of the seven days of the week, including holidays. Applicants should be in good health, be able to lift 40 lbs, and be able to work outside in heat and humidity year round. Positions are open until filled.
Education and Pre-requisites
Great Ape Caregiver applicants must have at least two years experience with great apes, and an associates or bachelor’s degree.
Compensation and benefits
Salary is commensurate with experience.
