Entry rate: $22.06; 6 months; $23.45; 18 months: $24.92; 30 months: $26.48; 42 months: $28.15/hour
Work area: Oregon Zoo – Africa/Primate
Work week: Part-time: Thursday through Monday (Tuesday, and Wednesday off)
Shift: 7 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
The Animal Keeper – Africa/Primate position specializes in the care of primates, large carnivores and a variety of small mammals and hoofstock. The keeper in this position is responsible for day-to-day husbandry activities and additional essential job duties as listed below.

Education and Pre-requisites
• Three years professional animal keeper experience working with primates and large carnivores, and
• A Bachelors degree in biology, zoology, or related subjects relevant to the care of zoo animals, or
• Any combination of education and experience that provides the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the classification duties and responsibilities.
