Description
Monterey Zoological Society is seeking to fill a full time business/office manager position. This position will complement and co-manage with our current management to complete our management team. We are a brand new small zoo and Bed & Breakfast in Monterey County, looking for an enthusiastic, mature, dedicated individual who will take pride in helping us further the progress of this very worthwhile project. Monterey Zoo was ambitiously built with the generosity of a caring community and benefits all who visit or call Monterey County their home. This position requires you to have a flexible schedule and provide your own reliable transportation. Must be available to work some holidays and weekends.
Skills required:
– Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, ever changing environment
– Good at multi-tasking
– Excellent customer service and communication skills
– Comfort working in the presence of animals
– Must be proficient in Google docs, MSWORD word, MSExcel excel, etc.
– Must have some experience managing others.
– Preferred experience with labor laws and requirements
Duties:
– Answering phones and taking messages
– Answering emails
– Booking reservations and tours
– Inventory/ordering/ restocking
– Maintaining cleanliness throughout assigned office, lobby and gift shop areas
– Accounts receivable/payable
– Filing
– Reconciliations
– Event Planning
– Interviewing, hiring, training new employees
– Scheduling
– Completing additional tasks as required
– Breakfast coordination – VIP Lunch coordination
Our office is the main hub for two different businesses; Vision Quest Ranch Safari Bed & Breakfast and Monterey Zoo. We are looking for an experienced, responsible staff manager who can handle the stress of this high volume, fast paced environment.
COVID-19 considerations:
Vaccination is required for employees. Plexiglass panels in office. Common surfaces sanitized regularly.
Education and Pre-requisites
Associate (Preferred but not mandatory)
Experience:
Office manager: 2 years (Preferred but not mandatory)
Compensation and benefits
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $20.00 – $25.00 per hour
