Description

Accredited by GFAS, Safe Haven Wildlife Sanctuary located in northern Nevada, provides lifelong care to surrendered and confiscated big cats and wildlife. This six-month internship position responsibilities include daily animal husbandry, diet preparation, habitat and den cleaning and providing informal onsite educational presentations to the public.

Education and Pre-requisites

Associate degree in animal care field.
Six months of volunteer or paid animal care experience.
Must have valid driver’s license.
Must be able to regularly lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
Must be willing to work in inclement weather.
Strictly adhere to Safe Haven’s no animal contact policy.

Compensation and benefits

This is an unpaid position, however, a $200 per month stipend and free onsite housing is provided.
