Description

Safe Haven Wildlife Sanctuary provides lifelong care to surrendered, abandoned and confiscated exotics and native wildlife.
We are seeking enthusiastic energetic candidates for two fall/winter six-month animal keeper positions in northern Nevada. Candidates will gain experience in animal husbandry including implementing our enrichment program and training, providing educational outreach presentations and habitat building. Each six-month intern will be responsible for the training/operant conditioning of a specific resident for wellness and health checks.

Education and Pre-requisites

*Must be 21 years of age
*Degree in Zoology, Biology or Animal Sciences
*Must be in good physical condition and able to lift at least 50 lbs.
*Must be willing and able to work in inclement weather
* Must have own vehicle and valid driver’s license
*Tetanus vaccination required

Compensation and benefits

This is an unpaid position but free onsite housing and utilities plus $200 per month stipend is provided.
