DESCRIPTION
Wildwood Wildlife Park Zoo & Safari is announcing the immediate opening for a Zookeeper. Looking for an enthusiastic professional who can work in a fast pace environment and contribute as a team member.

RESPONSIBILITES & ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Perform all duties necessary to ensure the care and cleaning and maintenance of our large diverse zoological collection.
Duties include preparing diets for animals, feed and water animals, clean, sanitize, maintain and repair animal quarters as required.
•Cross-training all areas of the zoo.
•Maintain adequate records on daily activities, observe animal behavior; reporting animal behavior.
•Participate in behavioral management programs and enrichment for animal collection
•Routine animal handling.
•Routine animal health care.
•Properly maintain exhibits, animal facilities, and equipment as trained for position.
•Properly maintain life support mechanical equipment as trained for position.
Education and Pre-requisites
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & DRIVING REQUIREMENTS
•Must be a minimum of 18 years of age
•Requires education and experience equivalent to an Associates degree in an animal science related field or worked at another zoological facility within the last two years.
•Valid driver license with good driving record.
WORK ENVIRONMENT, ABILITIES & PHYSICAL DEMANDS
•Work independently as well as collaboratively with a team on daily routines and park projects.
•Understand and follow oral and written instructions.
•Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
•Works effectively and cooperatively with other zookeepers and management.
•Have proficiently in performing assigned duties.
•Time management in a high paced environment.
•Ability to troubleshoot animal issues in any and all emergency conditions.
•Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds, kneel, bend, crouch, squat, and stand for extended periods of time.
•Ability to work flexible schedule that includes weekends and holiday.
•Able to work as a team with other staff members.
•Able to work effectively in all conditions (i.e., heat, rain, snow)
SPECIAL REQUIREMNTS
•Must maintain current tetanus vaccination within 10 years
and proof of a negative TB within the current year.
