Description
The Phoenix Zoo is currently seeking a full-time Maintenance Technician Assistant to help with tasks related to the general repair, preventative maintenance and aesthetics of the Zoo’s facilities and infrastructures. This person will be responsible for inventory control, product delivery, maintaining records and Safety Data Sheets, and guiding contractors and vendors coming on grounds.

A cultural destination and a conservation organization, the Phoenix Zoo is now home to more than 1,400 animals, including 30 species that are endangered or threatened. Our Maintenance team has been instrumental in our exhibit design, creating spaces that work for the animals as well as our guests.
Education and Pre-requisites
Minimum requirements for this position include prior general maintenance (i.e., painting, minor repairs) experience, ability to operate heavy machinery (i.e., forklift, scissor lift, etc.) and obtain forklift certification, ability to operate a variety of power tools, availability to work varied shifts as needed, and possession of valid driver’s license. All Phoenix Zoo employees are required to pass pre-employment background check including a drug test.
Compensation and benefits
This full time position has a minimum starting hourly wage of $11.73 – $13.20 DOE, and comes with our full benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with company match and generous PTO.
