Description
Six-month Animal Care and Educational Outreach position starting June 1st – start date negotiable. Located in northern Nevada, Safe Haven provides lifelong care to abandoned, surrendered and confiscated exotics and interim care to native Nevada wildlife. Candidate will be responsible for daily animal husbandry including diet preparation and feeding, enclosure cleaning, implementing an enrichment and operant conditioning program, providing education presentations, assist with habitat building and participate in annual fundraisers.
Education and Pre-requisites
Degree in biology, zoology or animal science.
Prior animal husbandry experience.
Ability to interface with the public.
Must have valid driver’s license and own vehicle.
Must be willing to work in inclement weather.
Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
Compensation and benefits
This is an unpaid position. Onsite housing and all utilities are provided plus a $200.00 per month stipend.
